AIRTEL LAUNCHES 5G IN NIGERIA

Airtel Nigeria, a telecommunications provider, has launched its 5G network in the country in line with its commitment to providing fast and reliable service to customers.

Airtel’s introduction of the 5G network in Nigeria is expected to facilitate the country’s digital transformation goals by accelerating the adoption of broadband services. In addition, Airtel has collaborated with Samsung to offer cost-effective 5G devices within the country.

By launching 5G, Airtel aims to provide Nigerians with a revolutionary connectivity experience. This advanced technology is anticipated to deliver faster download and upload speeds, reduced latency, and more reliable connections, enhancing the digital experience for Airtel customers. CEO of Airtel Nigeria, Carl Cruz, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, stating that 5G opens up new possibilities in cloud computing, telemedicine, self-driving cars, cloud gaming, augmented reality, virtual reality, Internet of Things, smart homes, and more. He emphasized that 5G unleashes boundless potential limited only by one’s imagination.

Cruz also noted the alignment between the 5G launch and Airtel’s ongoing marketing campaign, A Reason to Imagine. He explained that 5G makes it more feasible to empower innovators and entrepreneurs in various sectors such as technology, medicine, fashion, retail, communications, and media to explore more ambitious ideas. 5G brings about a collaborative era that transcends boundaries and offers new economic opportunities for current and future generations, igniting a creative revolution.

During the event, Airtel Nigeria’s Chief Commercial Officer, Femi Oshinlaja, emphasized that 5G is accessible and affordable to all. Airtel aims to democratize 5G by providing the most affordable 5G routers and partnering with Samsung to offer a cost-effective 5G mobile phone priced at 122,000 naira.

Airtel states that its 5G network is currently available in major cities across Nigeria, with plans to expand coverage to other regions in the upcoming months.
