e-Vehicle Registration Starts in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has now used contemporary technologies to enhance the licensing and registration of vehicles as well as the administration of its transportation sector.

The Administration claims that the implementation of e-licenses and registration is a part of its initiatives to reform the industry so that people of the area may access high-quality services.

This information was provided by Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), at the FCDA Conference Hall’s Opening of the Online Vehicle and License Registration Portal.

The e-process of vehicle license and registration is a government innovation to improve the ease of doing business, according to the Minister, who was represented at the event by FCTA Permanent Secretary Olusade Adesola. This innovation will save the driving public several hours that would have been lost if the process had been carried out manually.

The use of technology in public service delivery, according to a recorded video seen by TechEconomy, is unavoidable in Abuja, the city with the fastest population growth in the world, and it would significantly reduce incidents of traffic congestion and disorderly behavior related to the manual registration of vehicles by employees of the Directorate of Road Traffic Services (DRTS).

In his own words, “We want to apply comparable methods to other service-providing sectors of the FCT Administration. Hence, using technology in this manner is unavoidable to increase efficiency inside the system.

The Minister said it is distressing to witness certain drivers wilfully break traffic laws and voiced his disgust with drivers who blatantly disobey traffic laws and regulations.

In order to ensure complete adherence to traffic laws by drivers, he gave personnel from the DRTS and other security organizations the duty of quickly apprehending those who violate traffic lights.
