PalmPay To Spearhead Discussions On Money, Security, And CX At AfriTECH 3.0

PalmPay, a prominent African-focused fintech firm dedicated to enhancing financial inclusion through technology, will lead discussions on the future of money, Fintech app security, and customer experience (CX) at the upcoming third Africa Tech Alliance Forum (AfriTECH 3.0).

Scheduled for Wednesday, November 08, 2023, at The Providence Hotel, Oba Akinjobi Street, GRA, Ikeja-Lagos, the event’s theme is “Technology-as-a-Service (TaaS) in Emerging Economy.”

PalmPay, known for its commitment to customer safety in the Fintech sector, has been instrumental in promoting secure, user-friendly, and comprehensive financial services in Africa. Its range of financial offerings includes money transfers, bill payments, credit services, and savings, accessible through its app and mobile money agents.

Since its establishment in Nigeria in 2019 under a Mobile Money Operator license, the platform has garnered a user base of 30 million, with 1.1 million businesses, 600,000 merchants, and 500,000 agents contributing to its cashless payment ecosystem. The company has also disclosed receiving USD$140 million in funding. The PalmPay app is available for download on the Google Play Store and iOS App Store in Nigeria and Ghana, with plans to expand to additional markets in 2023.

Chika Nwosu, the Managing Director of PalmPay, emphasized the importance of building customer trust, particularly in bringing informal sector customers into the formal sector. Nwosu highlighted PalmPay’s commitment to striking a balance between security and user experience through a closed-loop risk management system that ensures real-time monitoring, analysis, and response to security threats.

Additionally, Adeloju, speaking on the sidelines of AfriTECH 3.0, reaffirmed PalmPay’s adherence to regulations set by government agencies like the CBN and NDIC, instilling confidence in users regarding the safety of their funds.

AfriTECH 3.0, hosted by TechCastle Foundation in collaboration with Techeconomy and other partners, serves as a platform for global thought leaders, regulators, and stakeholders to discuss and collaborate on strategies for accelerating the technology ecosystem in Africa and globally.

The event’s agenda includes a range of topics such as TaaS-driven last mile solutions, leveraging big data and artificial intelligence, inclusive product innovation, infrastructure deployment for the ‘TaaS’ Model, subscription models for economic resilience, cloud computing, omnichannel communications for improved CX, consumer protection, fraud prevention, and data privacy.
