NALA, a Tanzanian fintech company, has expanded its services into the European market, an expansion that will now allow the fintech to operate in 19 European countries and enable remittances from them to African countries, according to TechCabal.
This expansion follows several other additions to NALA’s product, as the fintech recently integrated ApplePay and Google Pay into its offerings to allow payments from the US and UK to Africa.
Having established a strong presence in markets like Tanzania, Uganda, Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, the UK and the US, NALA’s expansion into the European market promises inclusion for the startup in the lucrative international remittance market. It also provides more options for the over 11 million Africans living in Europe to send money home.
Nala now joins a list of African-birthed fintech that have made an expansion into Europe and offer remittance services to Africans in the diaspora including Nigerian software company Bluechip Technologies which expanded into Europe in August this year.
