Interswitch Maintains ISO 22301 Certification for Fifth Consecutive Year

Interswitch, Africa’s leading integrated payments and digital commerce company, following a rigorous surveillance audit process has received the ISO 22301 recertification for Business Continuity Management (BCM) for the fifth consecutive year.

Following Interswitch’s attainment of the ISO 22301 certification in August 2018, the company has remained unwavering in its commitment to upholding global best practices in Business Continuity Management. It continues to uphold the highest operational resilience standards, ensuring the protection of customer and stakeholder interests.

ISO 22301, a universally recognized standard, outlines requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually enhancing a robust Business Continuity Management System.

The recent recertification underscores Interswitch’s resolute dedication to proficiently managing potential disruptions, reducing downtime, and guaranteeing seamless service provision, even when confronted with unforeseen challenges.

Sustaining the ISO 22301 certification serves as evidence of Interswitch’s all-encompassing approach to evaluating risks, mitigating their impact, and devising recovery strategies. The recertification procedure involved rigorous audits and assessments of Interswitch’s operational procedures, contingency plans, and disaster recovery capabilities.

Commenting on the recertification, Griffith Ehebha, the Executive Vice President of Risk & Information Security at Interswitch, conveyed,

“At Interswitch, the ISO 22301 certification signifies our unyielding dedication to resilience, our unwavering commitment to business continuity, and our profound understanding of the importance of preparing for the unexpected.

The ISO 22301 recertification showcases our proactive stance toward risk management, reassuring stakeholders and customers that at Interswitch, we prioritize the continuous operation of our functions, even in the face of adversity. It’s more than just an accomplishment; it’s a testament to Interswitch’s proven ability to endure challenges and emerge stronger on the other side.”

MSECB, a prominent provider of Audit and Certification Services in the realm of Information Security and Privacy, undertook the role of auditors during the certification process.

In line with its devotion to global best practices, Interswitch has also secured certification in four additional ISO standards, including ISO 27001 for Information Security Management System, ISO 9001 for Quality Management System, ISO 20000 for Information Technology Service Management System, and ISO 45001 for Occupational Health and Safety Management System. All five standards are collectively managed as an Integrated Management System (IMS).

This ISO 22301 recertification milestone propels Interswitch to the forefront of companies emphasizing operational resilience and adaptability. It reinforces the company’s capability to proficiently navigate potential disruptions, shield vital operations, and ensure an uninterrupted flow of services on which customers can consistently rely.
