Premium Presentation: LG Unveils StandbyME, The World’s First Wheel TV

LG Electronics, a prominent player in the consumer electronics industry globally, introduced its latest innovations and outlined its vision for upcoming technological advancements at the Korean National Day Reception 2023 in Abuja.

The well-attended event provided a platform for an elegant showcase of Korean culture, music, arts, and cuisine for dignitaries in attendance. Additionally, there was an exhibition of Korean products on the sidelines, organized by Korean companies in Nigeria, including LG Electronics, to display made-in-Korea products widely present in the Nigerian market.

In his welcome address, Mr. Kim Young-Chae, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Nigeria, highlighted the noteworthy achievements and advancements made by the Korean mission in Nigeria under his tenure. Young-Chae emphasized that, apart from showcasing Korean culture and music, Korean companies in Nigeria arranged an exhibition of their products to underscore their collaboration in the Nigerian economy.

During the event, LG unveiled several cutting-edge products, including the OLED 65C3+ SC9S soundbar (perfect fit), StandbyME TV, InstaView Refrigerator, the newly launched XL7S XBOOM Audio, Dishwasher, and Floor Standing Air Conditioner.

Notably, LG introduced a battery-powered TV named StandbyME, a 27-inch TV with a height-adjustable stand featuring wheels, allowing easy mobility. The TV, with a wireless design and enhanced connectivity through AirPlay, NFC, HDMI, and USB support, provides a versatile viewing experience. The intuitive touch screen, along with multiple adjustment options, ensures comfortable viewing, and the hidden wheels in the base facilitate effortless movement within the home.

LG’s third-generation OLED screen, part of the 2023 lineup, enhances display durability and brightness performance through advancements in OLED technology. The C3 series, featuring self-lit 4-color OLED technology and the new α9 AI Processor Gen6, delivers high-quality dynamic tone mapping with AI Picture Pro, refining important scene objects for a more lifelike HDR quality. The HDMI ports on LG OLED C3 TVs are compatible with Dolby Vision 4K 120Hz, G-Sync, FreeSync, and support QMS (Quick Media Switching VRR), making it an ideal choice for gamers.

The Dynamic Bass Optimizer ensures well-balanced audio performance without distortion even at low volumes, enhancing the audio experience for listeners. The unique lighting effects contribute to making social gatherings more memorable.

LG’s new InstaView refrigerators incorporate UVnano technology, effectively eliminating up to 99.99 percent of bacteria on the water dispenser after 24 hours. Along with proven freshness-enhancing systems like LINEARCooling and DoorCooling+, these refrigerators maintain hygiene and provide even cooling throughout the compartment.

Setting a new standard for dishwashing, LG QuadWash models, including the DFB512FP and DFB512FW, feature innovative technology with four spray arms, offering thorough cleaning from various angles and leaving no dish unwashed.

The event drew guests from diverse backgrounds, including Nigeria’s political elite, members of the diplomatic corps, business leaders, cultural icons, media representatives, the Korean community in Nigeria, and friends of Korea. Performances by groups like the Nike Art Gallery crew, Shyne Band (Nigeria), Doshi (Korea), M.B Crew (Korea), and The Royals (Nigeria) added to the cultural vibrancy of the occasion. The national anthems were rendered by students of Nigeria-Korea Model School Abuja, a school built by the Korean government to support the Nigerian government’s educational goals.
