A new flagship iPhone might be released the following year. Apple is reportedly debating whether to introduce a more expensive iPhone “Ultra” that would sit above the iPhone Pro and Pro Max. This information comes from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. He claims that the gadget might show up as early as next year.
If you’ve been reading Gurman’s articles for a while, you might remember when he said Apple was debating whether to change the name of the impending iPhone 15 Pro Max to the iPhone 15 Ultra. Now, he claims there is evidence to suggest Apple plans to instead offer wealthy buyers a more potent and pricier iPhone. Gurman specifically mentions a recent remark made by Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple. When questioned if the rising average price of the iPhone was sustainable, Cook responded to analysts by saying that “the iPhone has become so important [to] people’s lives.” “I believe that consumers are genuinely prepared to stretch to get the best item in that category that they can afford. “It’s harder to predict how Apple will distinguish the next model. The iPhone Ultra, according to Gurman, may include a faster processor, better camera technology than the Pro and Pro Max, and a larger display. Additionally, he says, “there might be more futuristic features, like ultimately getting rid with the charging connector.”
It is important to note that reports about the iPhone 15 range show Apple is already looking for other methods to set the Pro models apart from their more affordable siblings. For instance, according to a recent report, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus comes with WiFi 6 antennas, although the forthcoming Pro models may include WiFi 6E connection. Other distinguishing characteristics for the Pro variants can include revised titanium frames with haptic volume and power buttons. According to reports, Apple will also give the Pro Max a periscope camera lens.
