Introducing Jane (Amadi Nkechi) Egerton-Idehen, the Newly Appointed MD/CEO of NIGCOMSAT

President Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of new leadership within various agencies, with a particular focus on strengthening the Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy sectors.

One of the individuals appointed is Jane (Amadi Nkechi) Egerton-Idehen, an accomplished and dynamic leader who will assume the role of Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer at the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT). Jane Egerton-Idehen brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the technology and telecommunications industry. With a strong foundation in sales, marketing, and business development, she has consistently demonstrated a talent for setting clear visions, devising comprehensive strategies, building award-winning teams, and fostering excellence in execution throughout her career.

Nkechi is a seasoned Fortune 500 technology executive, an angel investor, strategic advisor, and spokesperson, making her a valuable asset to any organization she is associated with. Prior to her appointment at NIGCOMSAT, Nkechi Egerton-Idehen held leadership positions at various multinational organizations. Her extensive background includes roles as the Head of Sales (Middle East and Africa) at Meta (formerly Facebook), Country Manager for Nigeria, and Regional Sales Director at Avanti Communications Group PLC. She has also gained experience at telecommunications giants like Avanti, Ericsson, and Nokia-Siemens, where she honed her skills in sales and management.

Nkechi is not only a corporate leader but also a dedicated advocate for empowering women and girls in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields. Her commitment to this cause is evident through her leadership of the NGO “Women and Career” and her book “Be Fearless: Give Yourself Permission To Be You.” Through her book and various initiatives, she has inspired and empowered women to excel in male-dominated STEM fields, leaving a significant impact on the industry.

In addition to her corporate accomplishments, Nkechi Egerton-Idehen is a renowned speaker and has shared her insights at prestigious events like TEDxYouth@Ho 2017. Her contributions to the industry have been widely recognized, and she was celebrated as one of Nigeria’s “50 Leading Ladies in Corporate Nigeria” by Leading Ladies Africa.
